State Council on Waterways to

Launch Communications Vehicle

In  May, the State Council on Waterways (SCOW) will launched a web site dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of New York’s natural and constructed waterways.  SCOW will serve communities along the waterfront from Long Island’s shores to Lakes Champlain, Erie and Ontario.

The site will host a statewide calendar of waterfront or water-oriented events.  The SCOW web site will be a source of information on the following:

  • Waterway news
  • Canal and lake cruising
  • Waterway history
  • Waterfront redevelopment
  • Commercial/Business Services

Any water or waterfront focused organization, public or private, that wishes to include events on the SCOW web site calendar for this spring and summer is invited to contact Peter Fleischer or forward listings to info@scow.net or pfleischer@erols.com.  Please provide a brief description of the event, location, date, time and cost (if any).

The State Council on Waterways will list these events without charge.

SCOW is a not-for-profit organization chartered in 1986 as an educational and advocacy group dedicated to preserving and promoting the waterways of New York State.
